Carroll E. Barker 1943 2007
Carroll E. "Sonny" Barker, 63, of Anna died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Anna, son of Archie and Pearl Shepard Barker.
He and Esther Mae Tellor were married Jan. 21, 1972, in Jonesboro, Ill.
Barker was custodian many years at Anna Junior High School.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Barker of Cove City, N.C., Anthony Barker of Alto Pass, Ill.; six sisters, Shelby Brown and Sharon Malone of Jonesboro, Karen Smith, Jan Brown and Pam Pind, all of Anna, Brenda Durham of Elco, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Mike Mayberry officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
He attended Union County grade school and Anna Jonesboro Community High School with the Class of 61.
