
Mr. James F. “Bud” Day, age 86 of Anna, died at 2:03 p.m. Friday January 1, 2010 at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born October 2, 1923 in Paragould, AR, the son of Dickson and Willie Hammack Day.
He married Betty Jane Bartruff on October 25, 1945 in Vienna.
She preceded him in death on January 6, 1988.
Bud is survived by two sons, Richard (Brenda) Day of Anna and David (Colette) Day of Carol Stream, IL; one daughter, Jane (Marc) Stover of Chadds Ford, PA; five grandchildren, Jamia (Chris) Pace of Laverne, TN, Justin Day of Nashville, TN, Buddy (Carrie) Day of Naperville, IL, Dana Day of Carol Stream, IL, and Kris Stover of Chadds Ford, PA; two great grandchildren, Devynn and Reilly Day; two sisters, Martha (Richard) Stephens of Cary, NC, and Mary (Bill) Murrie of Marion; one sister in law, Dorothy Day of Belleville, IL; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; and one brother, Toby Day.
Bud was a salesman for Bunny Bread for over 30 years.
He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a past commander and life member of Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna.
Funeral services for Mr. James F. “Bud” Day will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Tony Foeller officiating.
Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery with military honors by Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team in Marion.
Friends may call at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral hour.
