
Joe Garrett, 68, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in Union County Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, in the chapel of Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
He worked as a riverboat captain for many years.
Mr. Garrett served in the United States Army.
He was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Anna, the son of Otis and Iva (Boyer) Garrett.
He married Martha Isaacs Nov. 23, 1965, in Anna. She survives.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brian Garrett of Rome, Ga., and Jon Jones of Key West, Fla.; one daughter, Darlene (Jones) Osteen of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four grandchildren, Cassie, Bo, Dustin and Cortnie Osteen; one sister, Gladys Burns of Anna and one brother, Harold Garrett of Anna.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Treece and one brother, Raymond Garrett.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
