Jean Katherine Halbin, 89, of Anna, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1922, in Anna, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Norris Vaughn.
She married Robert Halbin on Dec. 1, 1950, in Carbondale.She is survived by one daughter, Gloria (Lans) Verduin of Oro Valley, Ariz.;
one stepson, Richard Halbin of Bluford; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Vaughn of Makanda;
other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Halbin, and by her parents. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Halbin
will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the Anna Cemetery with Bill Littrell officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
