Dorothy L. Martin, 82, of Anna, died at 11:20 AM Sunday, January 01, 2012 at her home. She was born on May 8, 1929 in Caney, Kansas, the daughter of David E. and Josie May (Woods) Ellyson. She married Maynard D. Martin on November 24, 1946 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1983.She was a Charter member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church. She loved to teach children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and serving refreshments at the church. She was an avid gardener. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to all. She is survived by her 5 children, Larry (Karen) Martin of Anna, Sandra (Wesley) Karraker of Cobden, Linda (Jim) Dallas of Jonesboro, Karen (Michael) Zelten of Murphysboro and Teresa Martin Jacobs of Montgomery, Illinois;13 Grandchildren, Michael (Anne) Martin, Michelle (Greg) Willis, Robert Karraker, Jimmie Karraker, Kathy Karraker, Jama (Dana) Eddleman, Preston (Andrea) Dallas, Brent Zelten, John Zelten, Noelle and Kylie Jacobs, Sarah (Ray) Hansel, Maynard Dean Agne, Andrea (Dusty) Hammer; 14 Great grandchildren, Tiffany & Kyle Martin, Gracen, Keller, Ellison & Eylan Willis, Kelsie (Brandon) Ramsey, Karlie & Seth Eddleman, Nicholas & Shannon Dallas, Trinity Tellor, Katy & Nathaniel Agne and Evan Hoffman;1 Great-great grandchild, Jayden Ramsey;Sister, Betty Kier of Anna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard, son, Terry, parents, siblings, Ed Ellyson, Floyd Ellyson, Lavon Herring, Eva Cockran, Russell Ellyson and Viola Vernon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 11am at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro with Rev. Mitch Jackson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Anna City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Anna Heights Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
